The Swiss ministry of justice has warn UEFA and Fifa that they cannot sanction Barcelona , Real Madrid and Juventus over the Super League.
Following 9 out of the 12 founding members pulling out of the idea, UEFA threatened to sanction the remaining three clubs if they fail to drop out of the super league idea and one of the threatened sanction was banning the three clubs from playing the champions league.
However the Swiss ministry of justice claims that UEFA and Fifa don’t have the power to do so .
According to them FIFA and UEFA do not have the capacity to retaliate against the three clubs over the ESL fiasco.
The Swiss magistrate, which has power over both governing bodies, argues that FIFA and UEFA are restricting innovation, preventing other formats, eliminating competition and limiting consumer’s choice by opposing alternatives to their own competitions.
