Demi Lovato has suggested that their overdose was connected to them ‘ignoring their truth.’The 28-year-old musician, who today revealed they identify as non-binary and uses they/them pronouns, opened about how that that they had struggled with their identity within the past.In a candid podcast with Alok Vaid-Menon, that was recorded for 4D with Demi Lovato, the artist explained that that that they had ‘suppressed their truth’ within the past so on evolve to social expectations.In 2018, Demi suffered three strokes and a attack and narrowly survived after suffering from an overdose.They admitted in today’s podcast that it had proved as a lesson to always live their truth.
Demi said in 2018, she overdosed because she felt that she was ignoring her own truth. She continued on to say that she is happy with who she is. She does not need to please any stylist, team members or even her fans that want her to be the sexy feminine pop star. She now realises that it is important to live by the truth instead of forcing yourself to do that thing you do not want to do.
Later within the empowering podcast, Demi addressed their critics and suggested that they can’t afford to suppress their true self any more. Demi said: “I could leave my career today. I’m still getting to identity as non-binary tomorrow. For the primary time in my life, I’m putting my wellbeing over my career and that is the difference in somebody i assume doing something for attention vs speaking your truth.””I can’t shove it down or suppress it any more or I’ll find yourself where I did a couple of years ago. and that i never want to finish up there again.”
All of Demi Lovato’s fan has praised her and made her feel comfortable as she announced it on social media that she was going to be changing their pronouns to something more that makes her feel like herself. She also hopes that the podcast that she is discussing her personal lives helps others and support to find their own truths.
