President Joe Biden calls for Peace and Calm following Daunte Wright’s death by saying that his death does not call for protest or looting.
Wright, a 20 year old Black man was fatally shot by woman police officer in Minnesota on Sunday during a traffic stop.
Thanks to an officer’s body camera, footage of the sad incident was released on Monday and it showed that Daunte got out of the car but got back in, due to reasons known by him. But Brooklyn center Police chief,Tim Gannon told reporters that Daunte was trying to leave the scene and there he was shot by the police woman who shouted “taser” but shot him in the end.
According to Daunte’s mother, he was pulled over because he hung an air fresher on his rear view mirror which was illegal in Minnesota while the police said he was pulled over due to traffic law violations.
In a statement made by the Tim, he said that the police woman believed she was holding a taser. He said that she mistakenly grabbed her gun instead of her taser and shot the young black man.
