Who is Shadez? (like a detailed background)?

Shadez is a Nigerian born and raised teenager whose real name is Oluwamayowa Adeshope. Shadez migrated to the United Kingdom (London) when he was Nine years old. As a kid, he loved music whole heartedly and with passion.

The name Shadez came from Luke Cage (marvel comic) which he liked and took as his stage name.

When did the desire or zeal for music start?

The desire for music has always been there because I grew up in an African household and there is no way you will not listen to an African music in an African household. I grew up listening to some African legends like King Sunny Ade, Fela Kuti and many people like that due to my father playlist back then. The real zeal came from those playlists because I have seen my father love what I love, so I grew interest. I started writing music at the age 13-14 years old which I was not the best, but I grew up and still growing in which, I am still going to be better.

What is your music style and what was the inspiration behind it?

It started when I was 13-14 years old when I would go to my youth club with my friends and there was a studio in the youth club which I will always be in there writing raps because I never sang at first.

Do you have any artist or artists you look up to? And why did u pick that person?

The artists I look up to are Wande Coal, Burna Boy and JHus because they are the pioneers and I’m not saying they are the best but to me they are, because JHus is so different, he can sing and rap, he is so crazy, his lyrics makes sense maybe say meaningful, Burna Boy has got that vibe which everyone will vibe with, play Burna Boy literally everyone in the party will flow with and that’s what I tried to pursue and Wande coal, It is the way he sings, he brings melodies into his songs, like he is crazy and I’m trying to be crazy as well in what I am doing

Is Music a full-time thing or part time?

Making music to me right now Is a full-time because I cannot give my energy to more than one thing. So, music has just got my whole heart but obviously I am still working, joggling and education but I still see it as full time because that is what I am doing, I do not see myself doing anything else. I’M HERE AND I’M HERE TO STAY.

At what point in your career will you feel you have done your best like what will be that achievement u will attain and you can rightly say “Yes I have done it in the industry”

The time I can say yes, I have done it in the industry would be when my parents and siblings are well comfortable in my riches and prosperity and when I enjoy the fruits of my own labour then yes, I can say that. And also, I can say yes, when I know I dropped an album and it gets certified I mean double platinum and when I’m getting that recognition, getting good feedbacks along the years about my music then yes, I can say that.

Any upcoming project?

Yeah of course, I have got couple singles coming out because people have not really heard me like that, I have been under construction. But definitely I have got more singles coming out and looking forward to releasing an EP.

Anyone you look up to and why is that?

I look up to a lot of people because I like a lot of things that different people do, and I try to emulate and also use that to guide me. I look up to artists like Burna Boy, Fire Boy, Rema, Wizkid and Olamide

If u had the chance to get in the studio with any artist who will that be?

To me, I would like to go into the studio with Jae5 even though he is a producer, I still consider him as an artist because his beats are …. You know what I mean, but apart from a producer I would like to go into the studio with Burna Boy or Fire Boy.

In the next 2-3 years where do you see yourself?

In the next 2-3 years, I see my myself finding myself because I am under construction and still under construction, so I feel like in the next 2-3 years I am going to be settled like my name would be getting the recognitions.
