She started from making covers and song compilations to having her debut song on top playlists on Apple Music and Spotify …..Yes that is Gisèle’s journey.
Gisèle is a British born singer/song writer from East London. While explaining her journey to the music world she said “ I started posting clips of me singing and realised that people genuinely appreciated my talent and wanted to hear more from me, that was my cue to take it more seriously. “ While still talking about her music she also made it known that music is a full time thing for her and that even when she is not making music she still thinks about music, in her words “ I don’t switch off from music”.
HER MUSIC:
Gisèle told us of her Congolese background which she says influences her Afroswing sound. When asked about how she feels about the success of her song she said “ It is an amazing feeling to know that people from all over the world are listening to my music and enjoying it. It’s surreal but I am so grateful”.
Many artists have said that they draw inspirations for their songs through personal experiences but Gisèle has made it known that the theme for “Let him go” did not come from any personal experience but she feels it is a regular experience that everyone can relate and it is the type of music she wants to create, something that resonates with a wide range of people.
All Musicians have someone they look up to and why they look up to that person. When asked about the artists she looks up to she said “I have quite a few artists that I draw inspiration from but one specific artist I have always loved is Lauryn Hill. Not only because of her amazing talent & strong messages in her music but also the sense of authenticity she displays. She is unapologetically her.”
In addition , Gisèle was asked about the people she would like to work with and she said “I have many artists I would love to work with, worldwide. It would be virtually impossible to just name one but definitely a few in the French Urban scene & in the UK Afro Swing scene”.
Gisèle sure has a lot of good things coming for her fans , she confirmed she has been making music and has a lot coming for us, in her words she said “ Yes, I have been working & experimenting with different styles & sounds. I have quite a few tracks I can’t wait to share with everyone, so stay tuned.”
