People arriving in the UK from France after 4:00 am BST on Saturday will have to quarantine for 14 days.
It joins a list of countries under new restrictions including the Netherlands, Monaco, Malta, Aruba, and Turks and Caicos.
Following the announcement, France’s secretary of state for European affairs said the decision to impose quarantine would lead to “reciprocal” measures.
