Real Madrid forward Mariano has reportedly tested positive for Covid-19 and will miss their Champions League clash with Manchester City.
Mariano is self-isolating at home and did not train with the squad so it is expected the tie will still go ahead. The footballer will not be able to be in the qualifying round against Manchester City of the Champions League, in which Zidane’s team will try to overcome the 1-2 achieved by Pep Guardiola’s team in the Santiago Bernabéu.
The match had already been called into questionbecause the recent increase in COVID-19 cases on Spanish soil. The United Kingdom imposed a mandatory quarantine on all travelers from Spain, but finally turned a blind eye to top-level athletes.
