The Ballon D’or wont be held for the first time since 1956 due to the outbreak of the coronavirus meaning CR7 will be one Ballon d’or behind Messi this year again.
Barcelona star Lionel Messi won a record sixth Ballon d’Or last year, taking him past rival Cristiano Ronaldo, who has five to his name.
The world player prize has been suspended due to what France Football describes as ‘a lack of sufficient fair conditions’.

The Ballon d’Or is an annual football award presented by French news magazine France Football that is one of the oldest and generally regarded as the most prestigious individual award for football players. It has been awarded since 1956, although between 2010 and 2015, an agreement was made with FIFA, and the award was temporarily merged with the FIFA World Player of the Year and known as the FIFA Ballon d’Or.
